Pre-Print Research: Immersive Technologies for Industrial Safety Training
I recently published a new academic pre-print on arXiv, where I investigate how Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) can enhance employee safety training in high-risk industrial settings.

This research is part of my broader work on immersive technologies in Industry 4.0, focusing on how digital tools and real-time data can support safer, more efficient training practices. The study is based on a case developed for the IPLOM oil refinery in Busalla, Italy, in collaboration with the University of Genoa.

I developed the immersive environment using Unreal Engine and Meta Quest headsets, enabling operators to interact with:
- 3D maps of the facility;
- Virtual safety tools (e.g., gas detectors, masks);
- Dynamic evacuation and hazard scenarios.
