InGondola

In 2019, I worked on behalf of my communication company on a booking site for gondola tours in Venice. The group of gondoliers didn’t have a name yet so we took care of creating a brand for them. The site was also translated into 4 different languages.

The project involved the study of the type of tours offered, in order to present them in the best possible way, the branding of the group of gondoliers, the programming of the WordPress site and the online booking system (as well as notifying the client on their mobile phones). For the translation of the texts we turned to an external company.

Role

  • Web Development
  • Website Design
  • UI & UX
  • Branding

The home page presents a short 4-step explanation of the booking method, followed by a UI for the selection of the various tours. The last part briefly describes the history of the gondoliers and refers to a dedicated page for further information.

Each tour is the sum of the previous one with an additional area. The map clarifies the visiting area of the tour, while the photos give a preview of the visitable views for those who do not know Venice.

Once the tour has been selected, details can be found on the dedicated page. From here, too, it is possible to easily switch from one tour to another, adding or reducing the distance covered.

Once the tour has been selected, it is then possible to choose the date and time of the booking and leave a name. Gondoliers consequently receive a notification on the Google Calendar logo with all the information about the client, with whom they can get in touch directly.

Branding project

Prior to the creation of the booking website, the gondoliers worked as an association but without a specific name. So we worked with them to select a name that suited both the site and their way of working, and we gave their company an image with which they could identify. It was very nice working with them because of their nature of taking photos along the Venetian canals while working, which gave us a lot of material to work with.
